So, the hair transplant surgery has been completed successfully. What next for the patient?
Completion of surgery
After the doctor has implanted the last donor hair follicles, the nurse or assistants will perform antiseptic treatment and general bandaging of the transplanted area. This process takes about 10-15 minutes. After that, the patient, avoiding sudden movements, can finally stand up.
Then the patient can eat. Any special recommendations or restrictions here not provided. Then the patient can go to the hotel for rest. On the day of the hair transplant surgery, it is advisable not to leave the hotel room at all. It is highly discouraged to walk around the city on the day of the surgery, as this can provoke an increase in the risk of complications. There is a high probability of careless mechanical impact on newly transplanted hair, there is a high risk of negative exposure to sunlight, from dirt and dust that has fallen into not yet prolonged micro-punctures. And the general condition after anesthesia (albeit local) hardly contributes to carefree sightseeing.
Second day after hair transplant
On the second day after the hair transplant, the patient will visit the clinic again. There assistants will wash his head, change the bandaging and give him detailed information on the rules of caring for the transplanted area during the first 14 days after the surgery. Depending on the condition of the scalp, the doctor may recommend plasma therapy (PRP) or laser therapy to strengthen the hair follicles and speed up the healing process.
After all these procedures, the patient can prepare for departure. Our clinic will also provide transfer to the airport. For the entire period of rehabilitation, the patient will be kept in touch with clinic that doctors can monitor his condition and the healing process.
